Broken without You

(I had received a prompt about a "Write a Love Story of a Werewolf" and this is what I have come up with :)

This is the story of Louis Smith who was born as an ordinary child on the 1st of September. He grew up in a normal household. His parents Charlie and Mary were teachers. On the night of his tenth birthday, his family went out for dinner to one of the city's finest restaurants, which was a little far away from their home. On the return journey home, they had to cross a forest and it was pitch dark. They were going by car and suddenly they were attacked by a pack of werewolves. His parents were killed in the assault but Louis somehow survived the assault. He was rushed to a hospital by a group of people who were passing by and was saved. The attack left scars on his face and a bite on his stomach and made him a werewolf in the process. Just like ordinary werewolves transform into werewolves on a full moon night, he too transformed into a werewolf, and the first transformation was agonizing. He had sleepless nights regularly. Eventually, he got acquainted with the transformation and the pain was reduced. He had no relatives so he had to stay at an orphanage and do some part-time jobs while studying. He passed his school, graduated from a good university, and got a good job. Many people were scared of him and avoided him due to the scars on his face but he was used to it since his days in school.

He very much enjoyed his work. But one day, he was introduced to a fine lady at his workplace. Her name was Victoria. Louis was quite surprised when he first met her because she didn’t give him a look and wasn’t scared looking at him. They both had been assigned to a job together and they started working on it. After work, they started spending time together and enjoyed each other’s company. They went for long walks at night narrating their childhood stories, their struggles, and their happiness. Louis used to be so melancholy and lonely but he was amused and smitten by the young lady Victoria. He had never fallen in love before. He expressed his love for Victoria and she accepted him. He was thrilled to learn of Victoria’s feelings but that didn’t mean he immediately reciprocated them. This was because werewolf Louis, affected by the stigma and prejudice, considered himself unworthy of love. Instead, he shut down. He was in despair that he could not risk marrying and passing on his werewolf nature to a child. But Victoria didn’t care about his condition and made her feelings clear for him. Louis never felt at ease about his love for Victoria because he felt he was being selfish and cruel. Nonetheless, they married in London. He was elated by the fact that he had married the woman of his dreams but he continued to fear that the stigma attached to him would affect his wife. Victoria was pregnant after a few months and both of them were happy but the happiness was overshadowed by Louis’ worries. Had he passed his condition to his child? Had he led yet another life towards misery? At one point, he was overwhelmed by the worry and he tried to flee but was convinced to stay by Victoria in an angry confrontation. The time came when his child was born. During the process, he stayed beside his wife, and a lovely little boy was born. The child showed no signs of lycanthropy (the mythical transformation of a person into a wolf) and it was one of the few times when Louis seemed truly happy. They named him Justin. Everything had worked out. Louis, Victoria, and Justin: a family, living happily ever after. Everything was going to be okay.

But his happiness was short-lived. On Louis’ 30th birthday they had gone out to celebrate their birthday. It was a full moon night and Louis completely forgot that it was the transformation night. He started transforming into a werewolf seeing the full moon so he immediately asked Victoria to take Justin with her to a safe place. While Victoria was leaving, they were suddenly attacked by some werewolves near the woods. Louis fought valiantly against the werewolves but he was largely outnumbered and suffered multiple injuries. He fought till the end keeping in mind that he had to save the love of his life. He managed to rescue Victoria and Justin but was critically injured in the attack. He succumbed to injuries and fell to the ground. Victoria came to him and placed his head on her lap. She was trying to ease his pain by saying that nothing had happened and he would recover, but Louis just smiled at her. He knew his time had come and told Victoria he loved her with all of his heart and had happy tears in his eyes. With Victoria, it was the only time of his life when he was really happy, and to add to his happiness, their son Justin, who was just a one-year-old baby. He passed away with a smile on his face. Victoria was heartbroken. She had also lost the man she loved. In June, she used to sit at the place where she lost her sweetheart and look at the Lupus constellation which resembled a wolf in memory of Louis who sacrificed his life to save his love. This was the story of Louis Smith who had a very monotonous and miserable life but was lightened by the presence of Victoria.

I would like to leave a small message here. “Love people who deserve love regardless of what they are. There is enough hate and negativity in this world, what the world need is love. So spread love not just for some, but for everyone.”

Thank you!!!

Ps- This is my first attempt at writing a romantic tragedy. Please do give me some suggestions and improvements in the comments. Have a great day!!!
