  Before the glory, before the goals and the trophies, Cristiano Ronaldo endured struggles which you can’t even imagine. Cristiano was born on February 5 th 1985 on the island of Madeira in Portugal. But he grew up in extreme poverty with his brother and two sisters. His family had nothing. Money wasn’t the only problem, his father Jose Denis Aveiro wasn’t involved in his son’s upbringing and suffered from alcohol addiction. He made friends and started playing football on the streets. He even skipped meals to spend more time playing football. At 11, his life took a decisive turn, he joined his favorite club Sporting Lisbon. He was living his dream. One of the most basic needs we have is a desire to be appreciated. Sometimes we get so used to certain things being done for us, that we forget to appreciate all of the effort that goes into them. It could be getting everything prepared to help start the day, working to make sure everyone is ready and on time. We never have to shout at or ask our mother that tea or breakfast is not ready, it is always ready before we even wake up. When father returns home from office, we never expect him to do the dishes or cook food, we always expect our mother to do it. Even when she returns home from her workplace, we always expect her to do everything for us. Even though she is tired, she tries her best to keep everyone happy. It was Peter’s 18th birthday and he was very excited for it and had received many gifts from his family and friends. In the evening, he had invited his best friend Alex to their favorite restaurant for dinner to celebrate the occasion. He and Alex had been friends since childhood, they had a special bond between them. Peter went early to restaurant and was eagerly waiting for Alex. But time crawled on and Peter realized that Alex wouldn’t show up. He tried calling him but his phone was switched off.
